FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can I get involved?
Members are cordially invited to attend Board meetings traditionally held the second Wednesday of every month, 6:30 p.m. at the BIA office - 1189 Lacasse Blvd. This is an excellent opportunity to network with fellow business people and provide input regarding current initiatives. If you are interested in attending, contact the BIA at 519-735-3795.
Is there a membership fee?
No. The Tecumseh BIA is an association of Town Council and consists of a volunteer Board of Management and it's membership; Tecumseh businesses. The BIA prepares and ultimately approves an annual budget. This budget is submitted to Town Council. If approved by municipal Council, a BIA levy is added to the business taxpaid by business pwners within the municipal area. This is an equitable means of funding as everyone is required to pay their fair share.
The BIA is not a free ride. It is a shared responsibility between the Board and its membership to make the levy work on individual, community, and regional levels. We are a grassroots organization and it is your responsibility to make the levy work to your advantage.
