A Gallery Without Walls, in its fifth year, is an exciting initiative brought to you by the Tecumseh Business Improvement Area (BIA).
Banners painted by local artists of all ages will hang on town street poles from June to October. This incredibly colourful and unique town streetscape is enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike.
We encourage all artists to enter this exciting contest; show your talent and creativity and most importantly, have fun! Get your drawing pencils and paint brushes ready to make beautiful art.
After the winners have been selected, a printed guide listing the artist, title and picture of each work will be available.

Street Art and the Artist
Street art is any art developed in public spaces, that is, "in the streets". Artists have challenged art by situating it in non-art contexts. 'Street' artists do not aspire to change the definition of an artwork, but rather to question the existing environment with its own language. They attempt to have their work communicate with everyday people about socially relevant themes in ways that are informed by esthetic values without being imprisoned by them. John Fekner, (NYC street artist) defines street art as "all art on the street that's not graffiti."
The Tecumseh BIA is asking all individuals to create a unique and vibrant gallery in our streets. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your work publicly if chosen.
