
TOTBIA Board & Staff
Town of Tecumseh BIA Board of Management are directors that the membership selects by vote and the are appointed by Town Council. Currently the TOTBIA Board consist of eight (8) Directors, selected by a vote of the Members at an Annual General Meeting, following an election year, and then appointed as Directors by Town Council. In addition, Town Council shall appoint two (2) Directors and one (1) Council Liaison. The Council liaison is required to attend meetings and take part in sub-committee meetings but does not have a vote. Directors shall each have one vote. A quorum for conducting any meeting of the Board shall consist of a majority plus one. The Board shall assume office the first day following the appointment by Town Council. The Board shall have the following Officers: Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer. At the first meeting of the Board, the Board shall, among themselves, elect the Officers. The Board’s Term of Office runs concurrently with that of Town Council – four (4) year term, with continuation until successors are appointed.
Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at the Town of Tecumseh BIA office (12122 Tecumseh Rd. E., Unit 2) at 6:00 p.m. in the BIA Conference Room. All business members of the Town of Tecumseh BIA (TOTBIA) are welcome and encouraged to attend board meetings.

As the owner of Sage Salon + Spa housed in Blackie’s Corner in the heart of Tecumseh, I understand the needs of small businesses. I have worked in many communities across Ontario and Tecumseh is simply one of the greatest. I’m focused on leading our community into the future, and ensuring that my beloved Town of Tecumseh continues to be the best town to live and do business in.

My name is Laura Carcelen, I am a Human Resources professional with over 15 years’ experience and the co-owner of Oven 360 Tecumseh. I look forward to working together in providing new ideas that foster community and support the expansion of the Town of Tecumseh and it’s growing businesses. My passion is people, community and providing outstanding customer service. I am extremely proud to be a part of the Tecumseh business community and its evolving success. It is with great honor to have been selected to be apart of the Tecumseh BlA team!

My name is Sandra Zanet, I am married to Robert Zanet, and have 2 children. I started in banking when I was 17, for 10 years, after which I went out on my own as a mortgage broker for the last 20 years and have never looked back (30 years in the finance industry in total).
I am excited to be a part of the Tecumseh BIA, as 1 enjoy helping people, and look forward to being part of a group that will be looking out for the best interest of the town that I live in. I live and work in Tecumseh and absolutely love it. I believe that I am honest, trustworthy, and a team player, and one who isn’t scared of some hard work in order to get the job done. I am looking forward to meeting many new faces in my new role.

I am a major sports fan and was lucky enough to play play NCAA Baseball in Buffalo, NY before returning home to join the Lalovich Commercial Team. Being a commercial (and residential) realtor since 2018, I am immersed and passionate about all things business, and am excited for the future of the Town of Tecumseh! Brian Houston
Councillor, Town of Tecumseh Ward 3
This is Councillor Brian Houston’s second term on Council representing Ward 4, first being elected in October 2014. Brian was born and raised in the rural community of Thamesville, Ontario and has been a resident of Tecumseh since 2003 with his wife Elisa Houston and two daughters ages 8 and 10.
Brian attended the University of Windsor where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce Honours Business Administration degree in 2002. He has a career in office products sales and also has financial banking experience. Brian continues to be proud to serve the residents of Ward 4 and all of Tecumseh. He is looking forward to continuing to be a strong community leader and make a positive impact for our residents. He is looking forward to working with his fellow councillors, our administration and the residents of our great Town to ensure Tecumseh is the best place to live, work and raise a family.

Hello! My name is James Dorner and I was born and raised in Tecumseh. I attended St. Anne’s High School and graduated in 2005. After high school, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces. I did 8 years of service as a Combat Engineer and toured Afghanistan. I graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Alberta in 2021 and currently a Civil Engineer-in-training. I come from a family of small business owners- locally, Signs and More & Armando’s Pizza Tecumseh. I have recently been appointed as the Councillor for Ward 2 here in Tecumseh and my goal being on the Tecumseh BIA Board of Management is to help promote small business opportunities in town and advertise the Tecumseh BIA to businesses and local residents.

We are excited to introduce our new Tecumseh BIA Coordinator, Denise Pelaccia! Denise started with us back in September 2020 and has since hit the ground running! Her background is in Public Relations and Media Convergence- TV, Radio, Print & Digital. At 25-years-old she has a lot of work experience in marketing/promotions, customer service and managerial roles. Her aspirations and vision for Tecumseh during her time as our Coordinator consist of highlighting the potential this beautiful Town has and making it not only a tourist attraction for neighbouring communities, but a place for families and businesses to call home!
